Patient Participation Group

We have a Patient Participation Group (PPG) at our practice. Our group is called ‘Calder Community Practice Patient Voice’. This is a great opportunity to become involved in local health issues, which affect you. We want patients to support us with ideas and suggestions to help us provide the health care you need.

What does a patient participation group do?

  • We believe that the patient participation group is invaluable in acting as a main interface between patients and the practice, working proactively to improve services.
  • It can:
    • Improve communications between practice and patients, to promote a clearer understanding from both sides.
    • Be a forum to feedback to the practice suggestions for improvement to the services provided to the patients. Suggestions for improvements may also be about the organisation or the building and its surrounds.
    • Work with the practice to set up a volunteer network, fundraising events and self-help groups. If you are interested in joining our Patient Participation Group at Calder Community GP Practice please ask at reception for more details.
